A third way of classifying hydro-el

A third way of classifying hydro-electric plants depends on hydraulic head : thus they may be high head, medium head or low head plants. this classification is necessary because the character-istics of these different types are different. Low head plants are those which have a head of 70 m or less; medium head plants between 70 and 300 m; and high head plants, above 300 m.
